I think, as ex-Catholics, we have a great deal in common. However, although I don't consider myself a Catholic any more, I'm grateful for the religious education I received in my infancy, and during my ministry in Dublin I've met some amazing Catholics - clerical and lay. On Sunday I was preaching in the Dublin Unitarian church and there was a Franciscan friar in the congregation. In full regalia, too! He's been attending for a few weeks apparently.
