Bill,
Waking up on Sunday morning I remembered where the elephants trunk was. It starts off Chapter 11 of The Language Instinct by Stephen Pinker. Would you like me to send you a photocopy or better, if I can work out how to do it, a scanned in copy.
Great seeing (and hearing) you on Saturday
I think I may get a copy of The Gospel & the Zodiac

Good evening Rev. Bill Darlison.
I attended Kensington Unitarians morning service for the first time today and you deliver the message. Many thanks, my soul was felt refresh and my spirit lifted. The Shaydoola story I really needed. I am asking you please for a copy of the story to give to my children, I would be ever so grateful for the story.
God bless
Mavis
Mark Said:
“Take up the Cross and follow”.
Only when we know what the cross really is and where the path of Heaven is indicated can we do this.
The fruits of the Vine are confused and bewildered.
What shall we do but show them what we know and hope?
Moses knew that the cure for poison was also the Serpent.
What do they know in this Age of the eternal War between the forces of chaos and Creation, of darkness and of Light?
How can they choose the path if they don’t understand Bill?
You have sought and you have found, but not all, there is a richness and depth hidden and lost by rulers over millennia that must be revealed.
Will you help, are you chosen?
I have just finished watching the video of your sermon “What’s the Good News?” at Bank Street Chapel in Bolton. As an old-style American Universalist (who was raised Catholic), I can state with easy conviction that it was one of the most engaging and reflective sermons I have ever heard. Spot-on, and bless you.
Thanks for that Marti. I think, as ex-Catholics, we have a great deal in common. However, although I don’t consider myself a Catholic any more, I’m grateful for the religious education I received in my infancy, and during my ministry in Dublin I’ve met some amazing Catholics – clerical and lay. On Sunday I was preaching in the Dublin Unitarian church and there was a Franciscan friar in the congregation. In full regalia, too! He’s been attending for a few weeks apparently.
Doing a second reading of “The Gospel and the Zodiac.” I read it all the way through once; and now I’m going to use it as a guide to ‘Mark’ throughout the year.
A question: why is it that when I look up the stars Menkar and Diphda online I’m told they’re Arabic and mean “nostril” and “frog,” but you and the 19th century sources say they – at least the first, anyway – are Hebrew and mean “The Chained Enemy” and “The Overthrown?”
Thanks for your GREAT book. I was listening to your interview with Miguel Conner on Aeon Byte and ordered while I was still listening to it. And I’m glad you acknowledge Dennis R. McDonald’s book, too.
Dear Bill, Thanks for your comments. Have you noticed that on this site, under ‘Zodiac Sermons’, there are 27 sermons on the book. I gave these a few years ago in Dublin and I followed the yearly cycle, two (or occasionally three) per sign. These are a little more accessible than the book and more clearly related to the actual months and seasons. (I couldn’t seem to get them in order though!)
As far as the star names are concerned I have nothing much to offer by way of explanation. I chose the ones that seemed to fit my thesis and ignored the rest! Some of them I can vouch for – like Ma’alaph in Cancer, which is Hebrew and does refer to ‘thousands’, and so is appropriate for the two feeding stories in that section of the Gospel.
It’s good to hear from you Bill Let me know how you get on with your reading.
Hello Bill, Just read the the gospel and the Zodiac. Well done for having the courage to tell the truth, what Christianity is REALLY about. A service to human beings and the world. But the myths and lies will `literally` continue. Emperor Constantine and others have a lot to answer for.
Dear Bill love to chat to you and dind out how you are and seek some advice on getting permission for quoting some of your enlightening stories from THE SHORTEST DISTANCE.
Thanks and blessings Roger
Hi Bill,
Darren here from New Zealand. (No# 1 new Zealand fan of your book the Gospel and the Zodiac !) I have an article that I have written recently that gives some further insight into why Astrology would be in the Gospels in the first place, which I think you would find most interesting. It also makes clear the connection that once existed between astrology and all of the worlds religions as well as why that would have naturally been the case.
Is there an email that I can send it to you as a pdf?
Warmest regards
